We arrived here on Monday and hit the campsite set up. First day we didn’t do much but on day 2 we went to Fredericksburg and spent most of the day there. Downton Fredericksburg was really a neat place to walk the main street. Fredericksburg is home to the National Museum of the Pacific War.
It is also the childhood home of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz served as
CinCPAC, Commander in Chief, United States Pacific Fleet and was soon afterward named Commander in Chief, Pacific Ocean Areas during World War II.
The museum was a really neat place as they had a lot of displays consisting of various aspects of military life during that time period. Plan on at least 2 days to see everything in the downtown area.
Day 3 we went wildflower looking.
It started misting rain so we returned to the campsite. Was out walking Skipper (our 18 year old mini doxie) and grabbed a few photos of the river.
